Don't Spin Us on Ebola
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Sunday morning’s news programs reinforced concerns that President Obama’s political-operative-turned-Ebola-czar will focus on spinning the American people through the election, rather than minimizing risks posed by the disease.
Ron Klain was not a guest on any of the five network shows, of course. But the Center for Disease Control’s point man, Dr. Anthony Fauci, was. On all of them.
And there he was pirouetting like a prima ballerina, endlessly repeating that Americans are safe. And insisting there’s no need for the quarantines imposed by governors in recent days. Or for flight bans.
I get that we don’t want to discourage health care professionals from going to the hot zones in West Africa. The right answer, though, is to quarantine them – and other travelers from the region – in as comfortable a fashion as possible.
