Don't Reward Christian Persecution
Egypt’s Coptic Pope Tawadros the Second has expressed strong support for his country’s law, armed forces and civil institutions in countering “violent armed organizations and terrorizing forces.”
He spoke out as the Muslim Brotherhood has responded to the ouster of its president by torching and desecrating eighty-two churches and raping and murdering Christians.
Importantly, Tawadros also denounced the United States and European Union for their “almost daily statements threatening to take further actions against our interim government and army [and] portraying the Muslim Brotherhood as victims,” while not even mentioning what the Brothers were doing to Christians and their religious institutions and facilities.
America must repudiate the Muslim Brotherhood, not assist its efforts to regain or exercise power.
