Obama is No JFK
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Fifty years ago today, John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. This anniversary affords both an opportunity to reflect on his truncated presidency and to contrast one of its most important moments with today’s events.
Earlier this week, I moderated an extraordinary symposium in Washington sponsored by EMPact America. It contrasted how President Kennedy responded forcefully and decisively to Soviet nuclear-armed missiles in Cuba with President Obama’s fecklessness in dealing with the now-incipient atomic threat from Iran. Former UN Ambassador John Bolton and others established an ominous reality: Barack Obama is no JFK.
At a moment when President Kennedy’s robustness is sorely needed, we have instead, President Obama’s appeasement. The latter’s potentially disastrous repercussions only add to the nostalgia Americans feel for their fallen leader.
