Al Jazeera's Trojan Horse
Friday Aug 23, 2013
Friday Aug 23, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. An instrument of enemy propaganda has started penetrating households across the United States. It’s called “Al Jazeera America.”Its anchors and reporters who don’t look like, or sound like, their counterparts on the nation of Qatar’s notoriously pro-jihadist Arabic network. But like the original Al Jazeera, the Americanized version will help wage information warfare against us. For example, one of its correspondents was recently granted a rare interview with a U.S.-based Turkish Islamist named Fethullah Gulen. She used it to disinform us about the true, subversive nature of Gulen’s stealthy agenda, here and elsewhere. It’s a scandal that Al Gore garnered $500 million for getting this dangerous Trojan horse into U.S. homes – and an even bigger scandal that our government is allowing it. Whose Chemical Weapons?
Thursday Aug 22, 2013
Thursday Aug 22, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. We are told by unnamed “activists” that Syrian dictator Bashar Assad used chemical weapons recently to kill large numbers of Syrian civilians. Responsibility for this crime has yet to be positively established but, at first blush, this charge seems implausible. For one thing, Assad’s regime is winning at the moment and talk of a Western intervention against him has diminished markedly. Why use chemical weapons and possibly change those realities? For another, UN inspectors are in Damascus to investigate previous alleged chemical attacks, raising the risk the perpetrator will get caught. On the other hand, anti-Assad jihadists seeking outside help to topple him may have both motive and means to “martyr” large numbers of innocents. If they actually did so, America needs no further reason to reject, not embrace, such Islamic supremacists. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Learn more at SecureFreedom.org.

Hasan's Continuing Jihad
Wednesday Aug 21, 2013
Wednesday Aug 21, 2013
After nearly four years of delays and other shenanigans, the prosecution has rested in the trial of Army Major Nidal Hasan for the massacre at Fort Hood in 2009, officially trivialized as nothing more than “workplace violence.” In fact, of course, Hasan’s murderous rampage was an act of jihad, or holy war. Since he has already stated that the evidence will show he’s the shooter, there would seem to be little point to further proceedings – except for one purpose: Hasan is anxious to be recognized as a “soldier of Allah” and that his punishment will, therefore, make him a martyr for Islam. This trial has been a travesty from the get-go. It must not now be allowed to become a platform for a jihadist to continue his war against this country.

Sandy's Lessons and EMP
Tuesday Aug 20, 2013
Tuesday Aug 20, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.A presidential task force reported yesterday about lessons learned from Hurricane Sandy. The main one seems to be that we must make our electric grid and other critical infrastructure more resilient.True. But it’s not enough to add robustness against the ravages of deadly storms like Sandy to the systems we rely upon for access to things like food, water, fuel and medicine. The grid also has to survive electromagnetic pulses, or EMP. The main difference between the two is that it may take years to get the power back on after an EMP event – not days or weeks. And many of us won’t make it. Let’s take the lessons of Sandy to heart to secure not just communities, but the nation as a whole. There isn’t a moment to waste. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Learn more at SecureFreedom.org.

Don't Reward Christian Persecution
Monday Aug 19, 2013
Monday Aug 19, 2013
Egypt’s Coptic Pope Tawadros the Second has expressed strong support for his country’s law, armed forces and civil institutions in countering “violent armed organizations and terrorizing forces.”He spoke out as the Muslim Brotherhood has responded to the ouster of its president by torching and desecrating eighty-two churches and raping and murdering Christians. Importantly, Tawadros also denounced the United States and European Union for their “almost daily statements threatening to take further actions against our interim government and army [and] portraying the Muslim Brotherhood as victims,” while not even mentioning what the Brothers were doing to Christians and their religious institutions and facilities. America must repudiate the Muslim Brotherhood, not assist its efforts to regain or exercise power.

Review Obama's Record in Egypt
Friday Aug 16, 2013
Friday Aug 16, 2013
President Obama announced yesterday that he is reviewing America’s relationship with Egypt’s government in the wake of its crackdown on Muslim Brotherhood sympathizers. What’s most urgently in need of review, however, is Team Obama’s own role in creating the conditions that led to the present crisis in Egypt. By realigning U.S. policy with the Muslim Brotherhood, it emboldened and then empowered Islamists who are not only the enemies of freedom there. They are our enemies, as well. If Mr. Obama continues such behavior, he may well drive the Egyptian government into the arms of the Russians and Chinese – nations unfriendly to us but seen as far more reliable than we are under this administration. If that happens, we have only begun to see the full costs of Team Obama’s mistakes.
