No to Samantha Power

And those making it more dangerous are emboldened by their perceptions of America as weak, disengaged, irresolute and submissive under President Obama.Mr. Obama thinks we should be represented at the United Nations by someone who personifies these undesirable qualities. She is Samantha Power, a leftist journalist-activist who thinks the United States has engaged in criminal conduct for which it must apologize, that we must surrender sovereignty to the UN and favor the Palestinians over Israel.If this doesn’t sound like the sort of person you want representing you, please let your Senators know. Her confirmation hearing is scheduled for July 17th and the Senate needs to make clear such notions are not only certain to endanger us further. They are anti-American and unacceptable. Kill the Bill

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.House Republicans hold a pivotal meeting today. It should decide the fate of Senate-approved legislation that would provide amnesty for millions of people who have violated our laws. It will probably also determine the fate of their party and our republic.There are numerous reasons for rejecting this monstrosity: Since our borders will remain unsecured, it will prove a magnet for more illegal aliens and more amnesties in the future. It will permit terrorists now here to be put on the so-called “path to citizenship.”And author Trevor Loudon has established that this bill is the product of decades of work by Communists determined to consign the GOP to permanent minority status, incapable of halting the further, radical transformation of America.This bill must be killed. A Beginning and an End

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.The rapidly changing developments in Egypt likely mark both a beginning and an end. The toppling of the Muslim Brotherhood regime in Cairo has begun the long-needed revisiting of a grave strategic error – namely, the Obama administration’s enthusiasm for that Islamic supremacist group and the resulting U.S. help to its efforts to impose shariah there and elsewhere.With the Brotherhood declaring that it will oppose the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi and the violence that has ensued, there is now a real prospect of an Egyptian civil war. As a result, no further serious consideration ought to be given to embroiling the United States in the one already raging in nearby Syria. The Qatada Option

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.Great Britain just deported a jihadist Jordanian cleric known as Abu Qatada. He had spent some twelve years in court fighting to remain in the UK and continue promoting the Islamic supremacist agenda of shariah.The fact that this Islamist was able to string things out so long is particularly astounding since way back in 2005, the British government declared that Abu Qatada "poses a continuing threat to national security and a significant terrorism-related risk to the public." The same could be said of Islamists in this country who espouse what the Muslim Brotherhood calls “civilization jihadist” techniques to “destroy [our country] from within.”The U.S. government should apply the Qatada Option by removing those jihadists from our shores – but, in light of the threat they represent, do it far faster.This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. A Soldier's Pledge

It makes clear what we must be if our country is to be exceptional, and perhaps even to survive, in the future.In the video, the President’s words are accompanied by images of those whose valor has become the stuff of legend in our nation’s wars. But it’s not simply about their service and their sacrifice. Egypt's New Birth

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.On the eve of our nation’s founding, Egypt’s military has given their countrymen a chance for what Abraham Lincoln once called “a new birth of freedom.” As when he said it after the battle of Gettysburg, much struggle and probably much bloodshed lies ahead if that chance is to be realized.Whether anything approaching real freedom can ever take hold in a place like Egypt, however, will depend on its people’s rejection the liberty-crushing Islamic doctrine of shariah. Unfortunately, many Egyptians believe shariah is divinely mandated and may wage a civil war to impose it. If so, we should stand with those who oppose our common enemy – the Islamists who seek to destroy freedom worldwide.
