Shariah Wins a Round

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Yesterday was a dark day for free speech in America. A federal judge in Michigan effectively ruled that a Muslim mob was entitled to use violence against Christians who gave offense by engaging in their First Amendment-guaranteed right to freedom of expression.
Unfortunately, this is just the latest erosion of a foundational liberty in our country.  The Muslim Brotherhood and its sovereign counterpart, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, have been trying for years to impose what amount to shariah blasphemy laws throughout the Free World - including here. And they have found a sympathetic partner in the Obama administration.
The American Freedom Law Center represents the Christians in the latest Michigan case and will appeal this ruling - if necessary, to the Supreme Court.  We all must pray that American law prevails, not shariah.

The Unraveling

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Team Obama is suddenly confronting an unfamiliar prospect.  So far, it has been given a pass by the so-called "mainstream media."  Now, at last, the establishment press may be beginning to do its job - and that won't be good for the President or his radical agenda.
If so, thank three recent developments.  First, credible evidence has emerged that the Obama administration has deliberately and knowing lied about the jihadist attacks in Benghazi.  What else is it lying about?
Second, the IRS has acknowledged abusing its power with respect to conservative groups.  Who's next?
And third, the government has secretly obtained AP reporters' and editors' communications.  Now its personal.
We need the press to scrutinize politicians without fear or favor.  Maybe, just maybe they will start doing so with respect to President Obama.

Erdogan is No Friend

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
President Obama hosts this week a man he has described as one of his closest friends among foreign leaders. That's troubling since Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan is a man who is no friend of America by any reasonable definition.
Perhaps, Erdogan is so admired because he has achieved in Turkey what Mr. Obama might call "the fundamental transformation" of his country.  In fact, under Erdogan, Turkey has ceased to be the secular Muslim nation it was for over seventy years.  It is, instead, an increasingly  Islamicized state - repressing its own people and hostile to Israel and our interests in its region, and beyond.
This visit is an opportunity to express our disapproval of these trends.  Unfortunately, Mr. Obama will likely instead encourage his friend to think America approves of them.

A Crisis for Deterrence

The Air Force recently announced that seventeen officers in charge of launching nuclear-armed missiles were relieved of their duties.  One of their commanders warned that "We're discovering...rot in the crew force." Even more ominously, he said: The nuclear missile community is "in a crisis right now."
More senior Air Force leaders are playing down these stark warnings. Yet, we ignore such alarms - and the disciplinary action that prompted them - at our peril.
The danger is not that our nuclear missiles might be used without authorization.  Rather, it is that a Commander-in-Chief who routinely rails against nuclear weapons and promises to rid the world of them is undermining our deterrent and destroying the morale of those responsible for it. This ensures a "crisis" - and demands a return to more responsible national security policies.

A Tale of Three Women

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Two women featured prominently in the dramatic testimony provided yesterday to the House Oversight Committee as it sought the truth about the Benghazigate scandal.
The first was Hillary Clinton who was Secretary of State when four Americans were killed by jihadists in Libya last September 11th.  We now know she was personally responsible for the lack of security at the "special mission compound" in Benghazi and deceived the public about what precipitated the attack.
The second was Mrs. Clinton's counsel, Cheryl Mills, whose efforts at damage control appear to have involved retaliation against a whistleblower and interfering with a congressional investigation.
But what role was played by a third woman, Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin, with her longstanding ties to the Muslim Brotherhood?  We have a need to know.

A Double-Header on the Hill

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Most eyes on Capitol Hill today will be focused on the House Oversight Committee where the lid may finally be lifted on the coverup known as Benghazigate. Over in the Senate, however, a very important vote will be taken on President Obama's most radical Cabinet nominee, Secretary of Labor-designate Thomas Perez.
The two exemplify the Obama administration's disastrous and willfully blind embace of Islamists deeply hostile towards our country.  It contributed to the fiasco in Libya that led to the murder of four Americans last September 11th.  And Tom Perez - among many other problematic attributes - is the poster child for the President's practice of engaging the toxic Muslim Brotherhood.
Legislators on both sides of Congress today must expose and oppose this dangerous policy, before more - and even more costly - damage is done.
