Good-bye to Loral

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
The Obama administration thinks it would be a good idea to export space technology to Communist China. It recently approved a sale of satellite-related equipment by Loral. Unless Congress promptly objects, the deal will go through.
Loral, of course, was one of the U.S. companies caught illegally shipping missile-related gear and know-how to China under President Clinton, ostensibly to help its space program. But since the Chinese space program is a military activity, the assistance actually enabled what Mao Tse-tung would have called a “Great Leap Forward” for Beijing’s long-range rocket threat to the United States.
It is recklessly irresponsible to assist that threat further – to say nothing of allowing the same company that did such harm to our nation once before to profit from doing it again. Just say “No,” Congress!

Obama's Warning

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Former constitutional law professor Barack Obama sure has played fast-and-loose with the rule of law in this country. The latest example is a directive from his Labor Department telling defense contractors they don’t need to warn as many one million employees they may face lay-offs on January 2nd.
This would allow Team Obama to pretend until after the election that there will be no problem for the affected families and the national economy. It’s saying never mind the law that requires at least 60 days notice be given – namely, a few days before November 6th – since Congress may yet act to prevent the cuts.
But it can’t without Mr. Obama’s help. And he’s willing to defy the law to keep voters clueless about the nature and impact of his defense wrecking operation.

Anderson Cooper's One-Sided Attacks

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Last week, CNN President Jim Walton declared that “We want to report the news from multiple sides, all sides, and without bias.” It sure seems that one of his hosts, Anderson Cooper, didn’t get the memo.
For several weeks now, his weeknightly program, “Anderson Cooper 360,” has featured a succession of segments promoting a very-one-sided view of an important public policy issue:  Has the Muslim Brotherhood – an Islamic supremacist organization committed to our destruction – successfully subjected the U.S. government to an influence operation?  And if so, could that help explain why the Obama administration has made decision after decision that have increasingly aligned American policy with the Brotherhood’s agenda?
Anderson Cooper’s vicious attacks on those like Representative Michele Bachmann courageous enough to seek investigations to answer these questions must not stand.

Israeli Counter-intelligence

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
The Associated Press reports that, “The CIA considers Israel its No. 1 counterintelligence threat in the agency’s New East Division.” What’s up with that?
This story looks like the latest example of Team Obama using intelligence leaks for political purposes – specifically, to undermine Mitt Romney’s theme of strong U.S.-Israeli relations during his visit to Jerusalem.
The AP report shows Israeli intelligence working overtime to thwart a massive U.S. spying operation inside the Jewish State aimed at discovering – and possibly compromising – Israel’s plans to use force to stop Iran’s nuclear weapons program and the existential threat it poses.
Finally, this article confirms that the Obama administration is so busy embracing the Muslim Brotherhood that it sees our ally, Israel, as a bigger threat than hostile Islamist supremacists now ascendant in the Mideast and here.

Sec. Napolitano on Huma Abedin

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Are State Department Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin’s personal ties to the Muslim Brotherhood contributing to the myriad decisions her agency is making that advance the Brotherhood’s agenda?
In congressional testimony on Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said the FBI has found “no credible evidence that such activity is going on.”  Some contend that means Ms. Abedin has no associations with the Muslim Brotherhood.  Not so:  In addition to three family members involved with various Islamist operations, she herself was listed for six years as an associate editor of a Brotherhood-tied publication.
If, instead, the FBI is saying such a well-placed individual is having no influence on Muslim Brotherhood-friendly policies, let’s see the actual analysis and findings.  Otherwise, this smacks of a cover-up, not the proper investigation we need.

Obama Meeting With Terrorists

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was asked yesterday by Rep. Peter King of New York what was up with the Obama administration’s recent admission into the United States of a known terrorist operative, Hani Nour Eldin.  She basically told him to get used to it.
Since Eldin is now in a political party and a member of the Egyptian parliament, the State Department felt free to let him into the country to discuss the release from prison of his spiritual leader, a convicted terrorist known as the Blind Sheikh: Omar Abdul Rahman.  Ms. Napolitano predicted there will be more such incidents.
Could this latest outrageous policy shift have something to do with the influence of a top State Department official tied to the Muslim Brotherhood? Rep. Michele Bachmann is right to want to know.
