The FBI's Pro-Islamist Insubordination

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.Yesterday was not a good day for the Muslim Brotherhood in America. One of their flagship front groups – the terrorist-tied Council on American Islamic Relations – launched a study that attacked individuals and organizations for being what CAIR calls “Islamophobes.” The study didn’t amount to much, just more smearing of Americans who justifiably warn about the Brotherhood’s influence operations and other subversive activities. Ironically, at approximately the same moment, the legitimacy of such warnings was being underscored by the Justice Department’s Inspector General. In a highly critical report, the IG observed that a number of the bureau’s offices had defied repeated direction from headquarters to stop dealing with CAIR because of its ties to Hamas.Representative Frank Wolf of Virginia responded by demanding the firing of the insubordinate FBI agents. High Crimes and Misdemeanors

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.It’s been clear for some time that, under President Obama, we have switched sides in the so-called “War on Terror.” This week, he made it official.To clear the way for stepped up shipments of arms to Syrian “rebels,” Mr. Obama waived laws that would prohibit transfers of defensive and, for that matter, offensive gear. He had to do so since the opposition not only includes terrorists, among them Islamists like al Qaeda sworn to our destruction. It is actually dominated by them.On his radio and TV shows yesterday, Glenn Beck observed that this amounts to providing aid and comfort to our enemy. Lehman's "Collapse"

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.President Obama yesterday marked the fifth anniversary of what he called “the collapse of Lehman Brothers.” Undoubtedly, when one of America’s premier investment bank’s foundered in September 2008, it sent the economy into a tailspin. It also had profound political effects, contributing materially to the defeat of Republican presidential candidate John McCain – who acknowledged not knowing what to do about the financial turmoil.In his speech, Mr. Obama did not address why Lehman Brothers “collapsed.” A book by Kevin Freeman entitled “Secret Weapon: How Economic Terrorism Brought Down the U.S. Stock Market and Why It can Happen Again” indicates it was the result of a deliberate attack. A Delusional Disarmament Plan

Unfortunately, it can’t work.Never mind the inherent problems with moving, let alone dismantling, these deadly weapons. Ignore the difficulties of finding trained personnel willing on short notice to do such dangerous work – particularly in the middle of a war zone.One factor alone is sufficient to doom this cockamamie plan: We don't know the actual size or whereabouts of Bashir Assad’s chemical arsenal. There’s increasing evidence that he is moving and hiding what he can. And now that we have told the Russians what we think is there, you can bet Assad will keep whatever has eluded us.Syria’s chemical genie is not going back into the bottle. The Giant Whirring Sound

The whir is loudest in Geneva, Switzerland, where Secretary of State John Kerry, his Russian counterpart and their large delegations are discussing if, how and when Bashar Assad’s regime will give up its chemical weapons.The conversations have gotten off to what is diplomatically called an “inauspicious start.” The reality is worse. The Russians are predictably being difficult and the task is insuperably hard. Yet, the Obama folks want us to believe that it was all their idea – not Vladimir Putin’s – and that progress is being made.If you actually buy that bunk, I have a bridge for sale. The Dhimmis' Jizya

Particularly the so-called Arab Spring – marked by the rise of Islamists, civil war and jihadism – has produced an ominous new reality in much of the region.A microcosm of that reality is seen in the plight of what remains of the Mideast’s Christian communities. They have been forced to abandon their homes, churches and, in some cases, their countries or face assault, rape or death at the hands of Islamic supremacists. And now, growing numbers of Christians are being forced to pay the jizya, a punitive Islamic tax on enslaved peoples known as dhimmis.
