Plan for War
Tuesday Sep 03, 2013
Tuesday Sep 03, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.President Obama has decided to go to war with Syria and wants Congress to support him. Oh, I know, he says it’s not war, just a punitive strike; it won’t take very long or involve U.S. boots on the ground. Team Obama wants a tidy little military action – kind of like Goldilocks: not too much, not too little, just right amounts of death and destruction, without any real cost to us.Unfortunately, fairy tales don’t make for good strategies. And the enemy gets a vote in wars. Thankfully, Congress is being given one, too. And in the debate preceding their vote, our representatives must evaluate not only the President’s proposed strike, but also what is being planned in the event one or more of our enemies votes for a wider war. Remember the Benghazi Four

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.Labor Day ends the summer of 2013. It also marks the beginning of a grassroots push for accountability about the Benghazigate scandal. Our Center for Security Policy has joined dozens of individuals and organizations to demand that Congress finally get to the bottom of the murderous jihadist attack in Libya last September 11th. You can too. Nearly a year has passed with no one held to account for the flawed policies that led to the killing of four Americans. Neither has anyone assumed responsibility for decisions that ensured no rescue effort would be mounted. And Team Obama has thus far gotten away with lying to the American people, suppressing witnesses and leaving the perpetrators untouched. Justice for Ft. Hood
Thursday Aug 29, 2013
Thursday Aug 29, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.Nidal Hasan will finally be punished for his act of jihad at Fort Hood nearly four years ago. Further, outrageous delays evidently are unavoidable, but given the murderous nature of his treachery, ultimately Hasan will surely be executed. There has been no discernable accountability for others in this horrific saga, however. Not for even one of Hasan’s superiors, even though they knew of his jihadism. Not for the Army’s top general who put “diversity” before the safety of his troops. Not for those who decided to charge the would-be Islamist martyr merely with “workplace violence.” If we are to prevent more of our servicemen and women – and perhaps civilians, too – from being massacred by jihadis, we better get serious about preventing this threat, not just punishing its perpetrators after the fact. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Obama's Goldilocks Strike
Wednesday Aug 28, 2013
Wednesday Aug 28, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. The civil war in Syria is lurching into a new and more ominous phase. The Obama administration evidently hopes to emulate Goldilocks in seeking to calibrate sea-launched cruise missile strikes against the Syrian government as punishment for the alleged use of chemical weapons against its own people: Not too much, not too little, but just right. That seems unlikely, as the Assad regime’s friends are warning of dire repercussions from any such strike. For example, Russia has said “catastrophe” would ensue for the region and Iran warned yesterday that Israel will suffer retaliation. Whether these threats materialize or not, Team Obama’s systematic hollowing out of our nation’s military is severely limiting our capacity to deal with whatever blow-back may result. Worse yet, that perceived weakness may actually invite a wider war. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Learn more at SecureFreedom.org.

Obama's Next War
Tuesday Aug 27, 2013
Tuesday Aug 27, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.President Obama seems poised to launch a war on Syria in response to the latest, murderous use of chemical weapons there that Secretary of State Kerry denounced yesterday as a “moral outrage.” Preparations are said to be underway for sea-launched cruise missile strikes on targets critical to the Syrian government in its civil war against opposition forces now dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda and other Islamist enemies of the United States. Britain and perhaps other nations may provide supporting fire.We should be under no illusion. Whether such interventions are justified on not – and they seem at least premature before inspectors on the ground confirm what happened – they probably won’t be the end of the matter. More likely, they will precipitate a terrible regional, and perhaps wider, war. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Learn more at SecureFreedom.org.

Boko Haram
Monday Aug 26, 2013
Monday Aug 26, 2013
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.Among the many violent jihadist organizations seeking to impose the Islamic supremacist doctrine of shariah is Nigeria’s Boko Haram. Its name means “Western education is forbidden.” The Associated Press estimates that this group alone has killed more than seventeen-hundred people since 2010, many of them Christians. And, just last weekend, Boko Haram slit the throats and gouged out the eyes of forty-four more innocent Nigerians. Yet, in keeping with its general practice in places like Egypt, Libya and Syria, the Obama administration seems more concerned with protecting the terrorists than with defeating them. Secretary of State John Kerry has called on the government of Nigeria to “exercise restraint” towards this jihadist group. We’re on the wrong side and if we persist, expect more to die – including here. This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Learn more at SecureFreedom.org.
