A Presidential Trip to Tehran?
A Kuwaiti newspaper says Team Obama is trying to follow its recent agreement with Iran with a presidential visit there. The White House denies the report. Let’s hope that, for once, the Obama administration is telling the truth.
After all, the deal with Iran isn’t actually done, even though sanctions have been eased on Tehran, allowing the regime to receive upwards of $5 billion in what amounts to critically needed life-support.
Moreover, Iran is at war with us. Whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, the United States is the object of the mullahs’ relentless hostility. They mean “Death to America” and are working hard on nuclear weapons and other ways of accomplishing it.
Legitimating such a regime, let alone enabling its malevolence, is not just ill-advised. It is downright dangerous.
