This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. According to the Pentagon’s top lawyer, the U.S. effort to destroy al Qaeda is “approaching a tipping point” where the terrorist organization is so “effectively destroyed” that “the group is no longer able to attempt or launch a strategic attack against the United States.” Jeh Johnson says then America can go back to treating terrorism as a law enforcement and criminal justice matter.  He seems to want return to the pre-9/11 era, even though that approach contributed to the most devastating domestic attack ever. Unfortunately, al Qaeda, its franchises and, more importantly, others who share its commitment to the supremacy of Islam’s doctrine of shariah – like the Muslim Brotherhood – are not being effectively destroyed.  Rather, they are on the march, and we fail to recognize that and act accordingly at our extreme peril.
