North Korea Spits in the Face of South Korea’s New President

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

The new president of South Korea received a nasty welcome Sunday from his North Korean counterpart. Kim Jong Un’s regime fired yet another ballistic missile on a very steep trajectory -- perhaps demonstrating a capability to conduct an electromagnetic pulse attack that could devastate the South with a single nuclear detonation outside the atmosphere.

This must have come as a shock to President Moon Jae-in. After all, he ran on a pledge to defuse tensions with North Korea by travelling there, and negotiating directly with its tyrant. Such appeasement now would only invite still more aggressive behavior from Kim Jong-Un.

So would Mr. Moon’s promised removal of the recently deployed U.S. THAAD anti-missile system. After all, it protects not only our South Korean allies. It is required to defend the thousands of U.S. troops there, as well.

Buck up, President Moon.

This is Frank Gaffney.
