Winston Churchill described the run up to World War II as “the Gathering Storm.” Today’s geostrategic “atmospheric” conditions suggest that another global conflagration is in the offing in our time.
Consider the following indicators of heavy weather inbound: Communist China is building up its forces for attacks on Taiwan and/or India. Russia has massed 100,000 troops on its border with Ukraine. Iran’s nuclear weapons program could bear fruit at any time, resulting in a devastating attack on, or by, Israel. North Korea has most of its million-man army poised to invade South Korea.
Each of these enemies of freedom actively talk about their intention to exercise these options. And, if any of them do so, chances are good that one or more of the others – whether by pre-arrangement or sheer opportunism – will pile on.
