War is Coming

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. The escalating civil war in Syria is raising the specter of assorted jihadists obtaining chemical weapons, as well as lethal man-portable anti-aircraft missiles and advanced surface-to-surface rockets. Israel is most immediately at risk.  And it has reportedly launched several air attacks aimed at preventing the transfers of such arms. Syria and its ally, Iran, are threatening retaliation and can undertake it, in the region or elsewhere. The Israelis are not the only ones in the jihadists' cross-hairs.  So are we, as the Boston Marathon bombing last month pointedly underscored.  War is coming to the Middle East and quite possibly to us, as well.  We must stop the hollowing out of our military and we should start reaffirming America's commitment to her first line of defense in that part of the world: Israel.
