Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is off to China, reportedly to affirm America’s commitment to building up the Chinese Communist Party’s “green” manufacturing sector. This is what passes for energy policy in the Biden administration: dismantle our fossil fuel production capacity and increase our reliance on our mortal enemy to keep the lights on and transportation moving here.
Yellen’s latest act of groveling tourism follows yet-another Biden phone call this week with Chinese dictator Xi Jinping. Official “read-outs” suggest the U.S. government remains committed to such “engagement” with the PRC, even as China prepares for a shooting war.
Specifically, the CCP is ratcheting up actual violence against the Philippines, intensifying its threats to Taiwan and Japan, redoubling “unrestricted” cultural and other pre-kinetic warfare against us and inserting ever-more unaccompanied fighting age males across our open borders. 
What could possibly go wrong? Everything.

The loss of seven individuals tragically killed by Israeli forces while feeding Palestinians in Gaza has prompted other aid organizations to suspend operations until, we’re told, they are satisfied “it’s safe.” 
Memo to all such organizations: Gaza is not safe. It is a war zone in which local and foreign civilians are at unavoidably some risk.
That’s substantially because Israel is fighting an enemy that intensifies that risk by using such civilians as not just human shields, but as weapons. The more killed the better for the information warfare Hamas terrorists are counting on to survive.  
There are only two ways truly to end the suffering of non-combatants in this war. Hamas can unconditionally surrender or be decisively defeated. Any other outcome is a formula for far more death and destruction of innocents throughout the Middle East and, inevitably, here.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps commander responsible for that terrorist group’s operations in and from Syria and Lebanon was killed yesterday in a consular building in Damascus. Israel has not taken responsibility, but is presumed to have pulled off the airstrike that killed Mohammad Reza Zahedi and six other jihadists.
The UN Security Council will convene this afternoon to denounce that attack on a diplomatic compound. But its use by Iranian terrorists is a fresh reminder of the evil nature of the enemy Israel confronts – as do we. The IRGC and its proxies also routinely use hospitals, schools and mosques as arsenals, headquarters and staging sites for attacks, typically against Israeli civilians. 
While Israel strives to minimize casualties among non-combatants, in a war for its very survival, the Jewish State cannot allow its mortal enemies diabolically to use such sites as sanctuaries.

The Biden administration reportedly wants to put American forces on the ground in Gaza. Clearly, there’s a desperate need for adult supervision, and urgent course corrections, regarding Team Biden’s policy towards Israel and the war upon which her very survival depends. 
Israeli media quote the seriously deficient Joint Chiefs Chairman, General C.Q. Brown, as saying Washington seeks a “joint U.S.-Israeli command center in Rafah.” 
Best case, such an arrangement would embroil our military personnel in deadly fighting in that densely packed urban center. More likely, and by design, it would create a further impediment to Israeli efforts to defeat Hamas decisively.
The Israelis rightly do not want others fighting their wars. Especially after last week’s American betrayal at the U.N. and Team Biden’s impending, insidious Trojan Horse port in Gaza, the job of defending the Jewish State must remain Israel’s alone.

A foreign-owned and -operated ship just destroyed an important bridge in Baltimore, with devastating impact on its port and people and still-cascading disruptions in the U.S. transportation, commercial and trade sectors.  
While the official inquiry into what happened has just gotten underway, the huge container vessel in question, known as the Dali, clearly had myriad electrical and other physical problems and a checkered record of unsafe operations. 
Whether this disaster proves to have been nothing more than a terrible accident, however, it is already evident that deliberate efforts to disrupt, or even take down, America’s vast critical infrastructure could be easily mounted with potentially catastrophic effects on this country’s population, society and economy.
