Secure Freedom Minute

Today, the Republican majority of the House of Representatives will confer upon Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio the position of Speaker. At least that will be the case if the GOP caucus recognizes both the character of this leader, the opportunity his election represents to unify the party’s fractious membership and the necessity of, yes, filling the post now, but in a way the times demand. 
Call it the Jordan Moment.
While Jim made his mark as a principled conservative and founder of the House Freedom Caucus, in recent years he worked closely with Kevin McCarthy and his team. Throughout, however, he’s exhibited the decency, personal integrity and profound faith that have enabled him to garner support from every quarter of his conference. Such qualities clearly will serve him and the country well in the critical days ahead.

Israel's Fighting our War, Too
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
It is now widely recognized that the terrorist group Hamas is indistinguishable from the terrorist group ISIS. Both believe their god mandates the use of violent jihad to destroy all unbelievers and achieve the global triumph of Islamic rule. 
Consequently, just as ISIS poses a threat to our security which justifies America’s use of crushing military power to defeat it, the utter elimination of Hamas is not just desirable. It’s essential.
That is true, of course, for the Jewish State. It is also true for us. Witness the appeal for and response here to the “Day of Jihad” Hamas issued last week.  
In short, Israel is fighting our war and that of Western civilization more generally. Consequently, we must not relieve the pressure on Hamas or otherwise embolden such jihadis by publicly second-guessing her efforts to achieve its decisive defeat.

Hamas Equals ISIS - and the Muslim Brotherhood

Who committed the genocidal attacks against Israel last weekend? The answer is, of course, Hamas, the terrorist group that controls Gaza and has called on Muslim sympathizers elsewhere to rise up today in solidarity with their action.
The Israeli government has accurately described Hamas as indistinguishable from the notorious jihadist group, ISIS –  which a U.S.-led international coalition has striven to utterly destroy. Yet, Hamas is the Palestinian franchise of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group the three Obama-Biden administrations have embraced as having “eschewed violence.”
In fact, the Brotherhood and all other Sharia-supremacist groups believe their god, Allah, demands they use violence like that unleashed on Israel to terrify, conquer and compel global submission to Islam. 
We need Muslims who genuinely reject that doctrine to stand with the rest of us and Israel in defeating those who ruthlessly practice it.

Amidst the violent conflagrations raging in eastern Europe and now the Middle East, the role of an “arsonist” in a position to have sparked them has gone largely unremarked. 
Chinese Communist emperor Xi Jinping is not only arguably the principal beneficiary of the invasions of Ukraine and Israel. Prior to their launch, Vladimir Putin and top Iranian and Palestinian leaders respectively consulted in Beijing with Xi and Company. 
For his part, Xi has made no secret of his intention to create a new global order. He also faces acute internal crises that give him an incentive to launch a war of his own against Taiwan and others – possibly including us. The more distracting “fires” elsewhere, the better his prospects for success. 
What’s left of the Free World could sure use a competent and loyal “fire-chief” about now.

Yesterday, Joe Biden reiterated American solidarity with Israel and sought to deter Iran, another of its terrorist proxies, Hezbollah, and others from interfering with Israel’s retaliation for Saturday’s murderous invasion by Hamas. 
Unfortunately, Biden’s credibility is sorely lacking as his administration had actively contributed to conditions that prompted that horrific attack. 
It relentlessly conveyed hostility towards the Israeli government, was complicit in leftist congressional efforts to deny the Jewish State resupplies of vital anti-missile weaponry, undermined Israel’s existing peace agreements with regional regimes and interfered with the conclusion of one with Saudi Arabia.
Worse yet, it resumed taxpayer funding of Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists, allowed over $30 billion to flow to Iran and turned a blind eye to Chinese destabilizing of the region. 
To truly “stand with Israel,” Joe Biden must stop standing with her enemies, and ours.

Horrifying videos taken by Palestinian “journalists” accompanying Saturday’s surprise invasion have documented a genocide perpetrated against the equivalent in a population of Israel’s size of 40,000 Americans. 
Three things are clear: First, there is no negotiating with enemies determined to destroy the Jewish people and their state. Surrendering land like Gaza in the hope of getting peace predictably engenders disaster. 
Second, those responsible for the present war include the mullahs of Iran and U.S. officials who have enriched and emboldened them. The ayatollahs must be punished, too, and their enablers, notably including Robert Malley – Obama-Biden’s longtime and reportedly disloyal Iran envoy – must be held accountable.
Third, Joe Biden has allowed into this country untold numbers of jihadists and others intent on doing to us what has just been done to Israelis. Mitigating that threat immediately must be our national purpose.
