The FBI arrested one of New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s former top aides for serving with her also-indicted husband the interests of the Chinese Communist Party while doing her day job.
These indictments call to mind an urgent heads-up then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave the nation’s governors in 2020. He warned that they and their administrations are among those being aggressively targeted by the CCP’s vast influence operations here.
Currently, some of them support Chinese companies’ acquisition of farmland. Others have invested their taxpayers’ funds  subsidizing PRC factories coming to their states. And Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has been to China thirty times, often bringing along impressionable young Americans.

Every day brings news that undermines public confidence that the vote this fall will be free and fair. Recent reports warn of registration irregularities, the fraud-prone nature of mail-in ballots and the problematic provenance, software and internet connections associated with machines used to tally them and other votes.
 
Too many election officials of both parties seem determined to look the other way.
 
Fortunately, New Hampshire has actually conducted an audit of the state’s election software and found, among other troubling results, that foreign developers had it connect with offshore servers. 
 
At a bare minimum, every state should be required to do the same. And any that fail even the most basic security protocols must default to the one that reliably works: with few, legitimate exceptions, same-day voting with hand-counted paper ballots cast by legal voters providing proof of identity and citizenship.

Two tech titans put the issue of government censorship up in lights this week.
 
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg expressed remorse that he allowed the Biden administration to pressure him to suppress criticism of its policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. And X-owner Elon Musk correctly observed that amounted to a First Amendment violation.
 
Unfortunately, in June, Team Biden critically assisted in the drafting and adoption of an international obligation mandating suppression of free speech in conflict with World Health Organization policies and prescriptions.
 
That requirement is imposed by a new treaty amending the WHO’s International Health Regulations in the event of criticism of the dictates of its Marxist Director General.
 
Paging Messrs. Musk and Zuckerberg: We need the Senate to consider and reject this accord that breaches not only the First Amendment, but much of the rest of our Constitution, as well.

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres demands Israel halt counterterrorist operations in the ancient Jewish homeland of Judea and Samaria mounted in the face of explicit calls by the Palestinian Authority for a violent uprising there.
 
As things stand now, the UN’s Marxist leader will soon be able to order the Jewish State – or any other nation – to do what he dictates.
 
Welcome to the new world government that such globalists intend to put irreversibly in train next week.
 
Unless one or more nation objects by September 3rd, Team Guterres will set the stage for his totalitarian empowerment via an “Emergency Platform” at next month’s “Summit of the Future.” An alarming briefing Tuesday sponsored by our Sovereignty Coalition revealed that the Harris-Biden administration strongly supports this unconstitutional surrender of our sovereignty.
 
Will any other country’s government stand up for theirs – and ours?

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. This week marks the third anniversary of Team Biden’s abject surrender of Afghanistan to the Taliban – arguably the greatest unforced debacle for the U.S. military ever. 
 
Another one is intensifying in the waters off Yemen.
 
Iran’s Houthi proxies have gotten away with attacking international shipping there, effectively preventing all but Chinese, Russian and Iranian vessels from transiting the Red
Sea. A large tanker struck recently is now leaking a million barrels of oil, precipitating an environmental catastrophe.
 
That disaster is being compounded by a strategic catastrophe. The Houthis have repeatedly fired missiles and drones against U.S. Navy warships the Pentagon has ordered to defend
themselves, but otherwise retaliate only minimally. 
 
Like our needless rout in Afghanistan, such politically engineered American security malpractice is emboldening our enemies worldwide and leaving our allies – in this case, especially Israel and Egypt – facing intensifying threats alone.

It will probably shock the millions of Americans treated to an intensely patriotically themed Democratic convention last week that the Harris-Biden administration is expected next month to take another major step in surrendering our national sovereignty and personal freedoms to world government.
 
That would be the practical effect of replicating at the United Nation’s so-called “Summit of the Future” in September what the presidency also-known-as “Obama 3.0” did in June.
 
At the World Health Assembly in Geneva, the U.S. government stealthily agreed to a new treaty conferring, among other outrages, emergency powers to force us to conform our laws to
the dictates of the World Health Organization’s unelected, malfeasant and Maoist Director General.
 
Now, the Democrats intend to give similar sovereignty-crushing authority to another Marxist bureaucrat: the UN’s Secretary General.
 
True patriots must reject these surrenders of our freedoms. Now.
