This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. 
 
You wouldn’t know it listening to last week’s Democratic convention, but we face the serious prospect of a shooting war with Communist China, possibly this fall. The Harris-Biden administration is not talking about that danger – but it may be the ultimate “October Surprise.” 
 
Instead, Cabinet officers like National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellin are, respectively, desperately trying to “manage the relationship” diplomatically and financially prop up – read, buy off – Xi Jinping. 
 
Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy is inviting war by exhibiting weakness in the face of the CCP’s immense naval buildup. The Pentagon just announced that seventeen warships must be sidelined for lack of personnel. Others are being retired prematurely, having maintenance deferred and new construction is woefully inadequate. 
 
Promises to “ensure America always has the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world” must be translated into action now.

Throughout human history, armies, tribes, or simply hordes of people have entered others’ territories. Until recently, the natives have generally forcibly resisted such invasions, sometimes successfully, often not.
 
Lately, however, Western nations have simply allowed millions of aliens to enter their countries illegally. Worse yet, by facilitating their entrance and making generous accommodations after their arrival, governments in Europe and here have effectively welcomed them in – and incentivized far more to make the trip.
 
Unsurprisingly, the effect of these invasions has been nothing short of disastrous for the targeted societies.
 
Singularly alarming is the unresisted insertion into ours of multiple divisions worth of actual Chinese military personnel.
 
Obviously, they’re capable of attacking this nation from within in potentially devastating ways. Evidently, notwithstanding our laws, they will also be able to vote for Communist China’s preferred candidates this fall.

The least-discussed acute public policy problem we face is the mortal threat posed to our nation by the Chinese Communist Party. It declared a “People’s War” against America five years ago and has weaponized against us every technique short of actual kinetic attacks, even as it prepares for a shooting war, as well. 
 
Curiously, despite vice presidential candidate Tim Walz’s longstanding and intimate personal knowledge of Communist China, he made no mention of this danger during his remarks to the Democratic National Convention last night.
 
 That’s the more striking since the regime in Beijing faces acute internal problems which, if properly exploited, could bring it down. The Biden administration, instead, is working to reduce Beijing’s “financial stresses.” 
 
We need an informed national decision this fall about whether that’s advisable. And we need to know where candidates stand on the question now.

As Kamala Harris curries favor with pro-Hamas Democrats, her administration is euchring Israel to agree to a ceasefire designed to save that terrorist organization from increasingly imminent destruction by the Jewish State. 
 
Should her efforts succeed, the predictable result would be not only the death in captivity of more hostages, but the imperiling of every other Israeli as what would amount to their country’s defeat emboldens Iran and its friends to try to finish her off. They will then turn to us, “the Great Satan.”
 
Fortunately, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is resisting such extortion, as he must. U.S. polls keep showing eighty percent of Americans stand with Israel, and not Hamas. Especially if our campuses are again besieged by the pro-jihadist “Red-Green axis” this fall, Kamala’s sympathies may become a distinct political liability, as well as a strategic disaster for America.

President Joe Biden made a surprising admission at the Democratic National Convention last night. No, it wasn’t his declaration that selecting Kamala Harris was “the best decision” he ever made. After all, that fits a party-line that implausibly describes her as “the most qualified person to be president.” 
 
Biden acknowledged, however, that he had made “a lot of mistakes.” That’s not exactly news. For example, former Obama Secretary of Defense Robert Gates famously observed that Biden’s been wrong on “nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”
 
But a new impeachment report from three House committees documents that Joe Biden and his family decided to accept at least $27 million dollars from foreign governments, including Chinese intelligence. 
 
Ignoring the betrayal of our country can only encourage others aligned with the CCP to do it, too.

As Democrats begin their four-day gaslighting binge today in Chicago, a main focus will likely be obscuring how hard left is the Harris-Walz ticket. Yet, Donald Trump insists that Kamala is a “Communist.” Who’s right?
 
Let’s examine, for example, the so-called “global governance” agenda the Vice President supports.
 
Our recent Sovereignty Summit examined four such initiatives calculated to subject our sovereignty and freedoms to the totalitarian dictates of foreign powers, including the Chinese Communist Party and its Marxist allies who run the World Health Organization and the UN. 
 
That would be the effect of: two WHO treaties – one sneakily approved in June, one still being negotiated; a UN “Pact for the Future” set to be sprung on us next month; and the next “plandemic” – perhaps Avian Flu, perhaps Monkey Pox declared last week to be a “global health emergency.” 
 
Pretty radical stuff.
